Pastor Chris Okotie: The Battle For The Vacant 'Mrs Okotie' Title

That the founder and the General Overseer of the Household of God Church, Pastor Chris Okotie packed it up with his second wife Stephanie Henshaw is no more news, just like the fact that a lot of people were caught unawares by his declaration that he was going to marry for the third time this December.

However, the announcement a couple of weeks back that the funky pastor will be getting married soon stirred some activities around his Oregun Lagos church, as some female members whose hopes were dashed when he decided to marry Stephanie four years back are currently jostling at the background to fill the vacant position of “Mrs Okotie.” Please click to continue reading.

Some of the ladies who are strongly rumoured to be on this list and whom the man of God has played a prominent role in their lives include:

Sola Salako, who was the church’s head of administration for several years,

Okotie’s close aide, Vien Tetsola, a former Miss Nigeria,

Ure Okezie, daughter of former minister, Dr. Okezie, who later dated hip-hop artiste Soul E, but who has since moved on,

Rose Elishama Ideh, who became a frequent visitor at many of Okotie’s church events, and who played a major role in his last presidential campaign.

All of these women quit the church in the heat of union then hoping that Okotie would one day wake up from the spell of the Calabar beauty, and their prayers were answered in June this year.

The argument of the women against the choice of Stephanie was that Pastor Chris had been the family pastor during her two marriages and Stephanie’s second husband was his oldest church member.

The story now is that since the pastor who was the presidential candidate of his Fresh Party is free from his marriage and has signified his intention to remarry, there is need to return as the race for the role of Mrs. Okotie is open.

First to signify her intention is Ure Okezie popularly known as Queen Ure.

When Okotie’s rejection pushed her into the arms of younger Soul E whom she dated for about four years before Soul E walked out of the relationship, she recently returned to the fold of the pastor that is known for his excessive grammatical expression laden sermon.

When questioned about Christ Vila, the church she co-owned with her ex-lover, she replied that she has returned to Pastor Chris Okotie’s Household of God Church and that she now worships there, raising questions as to why she chose to return to the church immediately after the break-up between the pastor and Stephanie.

Sources close to the church also revealed that it is a matter time before others like Vien Tetsola, and the rest return as the office of the wife of the pastor has now suddenly become vacant since most of the women in question are still single with the exception of the Roli Adeniyi who has since become married to the former vice-chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-west, Chief Olabode George.

READERS MAIL: How Do I Live With A Man I Don't Love

Dear Ladun,

I read your blog every day and I want to commend you for a god job. My name is Mercy. I am a 29years old lady who is very successful in the corporate world. But this success seem not to be my portion in my relationship.

I met my first boyfriend online, I was 22(she just sent another mail that she meant 22. The story is real cus she is following your comments)years old and undergraduate still a virgin and I wanted to be loved. We got chatting and we told each other about ourselves. In the process I got to know that he is 11years older based in Dubai and already had a child out of wedlock. This didn’t deter our relationship as our love grew stronger.

He finally came to Nigeria to settle down and that was when I got disvirgined. Our relationship grew stronger and for the first time in my life I was selfless. And ready to do anything for him. This determination spoiled me to borrow him money on different occasions without complaining or even asking him to pay back. please not here LLBers that I was still a student so all these money was gotten from my parents. Click to continue..
3years into the relationship I discovered he started acting funny and started keeping secrets. But I decided to ignore them because I was so in love and could not bear the thoughts of losing him. After we had dated for like 5years I found out he re untied with the mother of his first child and that she was carrying his second baby. He tried to apologise but he was non-chalant about it and that was when I decided I have had enough and so I broke up with him.

2years had gone and I was not still in any relationship and my parents started showing concern because I am not getting any younger. A lot of guys asked me out after we broke up. But I wanted a Christian, a God fearing man so I declined. I finally met a guy in January that I think I like because he is a Christian and God fearing man. But I don’t love him as much as I loved my ex. I get irritated over little things he does. Things that don’t matter. The truth is he is a really good guy. A Christian and he is the kind of person my mother expects me to marry.

My introduction is in a few weeks. And our wedding in 5months. It is certain that I am marrying this guy. But I still find myself thinking about my ex. I still love him.

Dear LLBers how can I live with a man I don’t love. How can I tolerate him at home. Save a soul. The advice I need is how do I cope and tolerate him.

7. Honour his mother

8. Insist that he buys gifts for his parents. Be sure that he will do the same for your parents.

9. Surprise him with his favourite dish especially when he does not have enough money at the moment.

10. Do not allow your maid to serve him food whenever you are at home, because you may lose him to her.

11. Hug him whenever he returns from work. Collect his luggage and help undress him.

12. Smile when you look at him and perk him occasionally when you are in a gathering.

13. Praise him before your children.

14. Wash his back while he is in the tub or shower.

15. Put a love note in his purse.

16. Phone and tell him that you miss him.

17. Dial his number and when you hear "hello" just tell him ‘I love u’.

18. If he is a public figure or politician, gently wake him at the early hours of the morning and romance him. He will not be enticed by any other woman that day.

19. Tel him how lucky you are to have him as your husband.

20. Give him a hug for no reason.

21. Appreciate God for the Adam of your life. Implement these laws.  Wake up and pray every morning with your family, it goes a long way.

Value your husband because you may not have the second chance to love him. Pray to God to protect him. If you practice all these, your husband will be afraid to cheat on you, even if he does his mind will not be at rest. If your husband is already cheating on you, begin to practice these and you will win him back. Do support it with prayers because nothing is impossible with God. I wish u a happy home and lovable husband.

Sorry I had to remove my little write up, lol. Some I respect so much asked me too. Hmm, we like pretending in this part of the world though. I rest my case, lol.

5 Things No One Tells You About Marriage

Marriage is tough, sister. Some of this you know, like nixing the idea that towels will be folded a certain way, tolerating game night with the boys, or if you’re a guy, maybe you’ve heard there will be love stories on your plasma TV. But it’s tough in other ways that no one really talks about at weddings. Here are five tough things about marriage that every married person knows, along with how to be tough right back and kick ass anyway. Click to continue reading…
1. MARRIAGE IS NOT FAIR
Marriage isn’t fair. It’s not equal. At any given time someone is getting more than their share of the good stuff, and someone is picking up more than their share of the crap end of the stick. This is just life — it’s not a perfectly balanced teeter totter, and it never will be. Surprise!
Think of a game of teeter totter where the goal is to stay balanced the whole time, with both people’s toes touching. No one dips, and no one floats. Whenever someone starts to go up, the falling person whines and crabs about how unfair it is and the rising person feels guilty and nervous. Super fun, right? NO. The point of teeter totter is the joy of rising, the anticipation of falling, and the fact that you work together to keep the cycle moving.
So deal with it. Don’t spend any time tallying up how much slack you’re picking up so you can demand to be repaid. Just ride the flippin’ teeter totter, do your part pushing, and trust your partner not to bump you off when you’re on top.

2. MARRIAGE HAS NO FINISH LINE
My mother-in-law always says you can tolerate anything if you know when it will end. Marriage has no end unless one of you dies. But let’s try not to look at the coffin as a finish line with a ribbon across it that you can joyfully burst.
Marriage is a permanent shift in paradigm. The vows say that two become one. Not two become two standing very very close together, with an eventual plan to disentangle if somebody starts to stink. This is a magic spell where you throw away the antidote, a surgical procedure where you toss out the instructions for reversing the operation, and decide to live and die that way. There’s no being done. There’s no exit.
3. MARRIAGE HAS NO RESTS
Whatever you’re doing to stay married, you’re doing it every day, all the time. There are no vacations, no periods of time off for good behaviour, no rest days. You’re not looking at other dudes/girls ever, you’re considering your spouse’s needs before your own always, and the beauty of it is that taking a break from it wouldn’t even be fun. You don’t yearn to take a break from having a functional heart valve, or some time off from your left arm. You don’t get tired of being able to see, or breathe. Marriage isn’t like your favorite song, that you can only put on repeat for so long before even it starts to annoy you. Marriage is like oxygen, where taking a break from it starts to kill parts of your brain. Remember: dating was not fun. Fortunately, you don’t have to do it any more.

4. MARRIAGE HAS NO METRICS
There’s no winning marriage. There are no medals. You can’t even see how you rate compared to other married people, because there is no standardized test and no score. Being married is like running an endless race, and you can’t see any of the other runners or any mile markers, and the only reason you know you’re still in the race is that you haven’t yet died.
You *can* compare your marriage to other people’s marriages if you want to. But you can’t ever tell if you’re beating them, really. Maybe under all their fighting is a secret weirdly passionate love, or under all their peacefulness is a cold fish and a dissatisfied fisherman.
If you’re lucky, you may someday hear a friend say, “You guys have such a strong marriage!” But then you have to wonder, strong compared to what? There are no inches, feet, yards. You can measure yourself against how good it might be, or will be. But you will never fully know you made it, and you’ll never get a trophy or a prize.
5. MARRIAGE HAS NO RULES
Unfortunately for those of us who like to be perfect, marriage is one big “your mileage may vary.” Sure there are some absolutes, but leading with “Don’t kill each other” won’t make for a very good wedding sermon.
For every engraving of the 10 commandments, there’s a couple out there swinging into retirement. For every exhortation to be kind, there’s some jackass calling his wife a cow and some bonehead that keeps tolerating it. I’m pretty sure no one has ever saved a marriage by slapping her husband in the head with a board and running off with the local insurance adjuster, but if you take a wide enough sample, lots of weird stuff falls within the range of normal.
Marriage is tough. It’s endless, relentless, unfair, and there are no rules or rewards. But here’s how to be tough enough for marriage: Answer to no one, and compare yourself to no one. Live for each other, and never stop. Embrace your spouse with such force that they become an extension of your own self, an extension you can never do without. Marriage is an opportunity to separate yourself from the rest of the world. To redefine happiness between you two, and live life your own way. When you’ve found the right girl or guy, everything that makes it tough to be married will make your marriage even tougher to break. Harden up. This is worth it. Get tough and be strong.

Pls Read...

My friend who is a brilliant writer wrote this. Please read and share with your readers- Anon.
I married my husband at age 18 while I was still a virgin. My husband (Joshua) has always been there for me in everything, understanding and supportive in our trying times.
About 2 years ago, my childhood friend advised me on what to do....following her advice I remembered "Bayo" my 22 years old house help. Bayo has been with us since he was 8 years old, we treated him as if he was ours. Click to continue reading…

I started talking to him about his personal life. Few months later, my husband travelled to his home town to see his people, so I utilised the opportunity!
I locked Bayo in my room and begged him to have sex with me,He refused at first, then I threatened him that I would Send him back to d village....he later agreed, so we had sex 5 times b4 day break!
The next day my husband came back.
13days later, I Became pregnant, unknown to Bayo that I was pregnant, I gave him 1million naira, told him to take d money and Go back to the village........the lil chap was Greatfully satisfied!
I eventually told my husband that I was pregnant and he instantly became the most happiest person in the world, he called his mother, updated them about the news and they started buying kid clothing and Toys.
Few months later we did scan and the doctors told us that it was twin.
Glory be to God, I gave birth to taiwo(female) and kehinde(male).
2 days ago, my husband woke me up in d middle of the night, held me close to his arms, looked into my eyes, and asked me "Jumoke, who is the father of our kids"

......I was shocked, scared that he must have known some how, I just knew he had known because of d way he asked me, I didn't know what to say, I was so shy because I knew I've betrayed his trust, I looked at his eyes and I burst into tears........
he then told me "jumoke, before u start talking, I have a confession to make" I cleaned my face and sat upright. he went ahead and told me how he had Unprotected sex with a girl in his village and contacted STD before he got married, and how he didn't treat it for a very long time, that eventually when he went to the hospital, the doctors told him that the std he didn't treat ontime had made him sterile(can't impregnate a woman)
He said he treated the STD b4 he got married to me, and he has always known that he was sterile, and that all those test we've been doing that he has been paying the doctors to give me a wrong result.
He also added that the woman he had sex with back then got pregnant and the child is BAYO our house help. he also went ahead by saying that he has always wanted to tell me to look for someone to impregnate me but he just didn't have the balls to do so.
But now that I have done it,he'll like to know who d father is.
"I fainted"
Jumoke!!!, can you hear me... I could hear Joshua's voice echo as I opened my eyes to behold the face of my husband (my twins grandfather). Sitting right next to me on the hospital bed holding my right hand so close to his chest, I feel his heart beat... Should I? or shouldn't I??
I opened my mouth but all I could do was gasp for air... My husband reached me with his left hand comforting me "Jumoke, don't say nothing.. I caused everything, it was too much revelation for one to take in a day and I know how hard it must be for you, I'm just begging you to forgive me for all the lies and deceit all this years, I've tried so many times to tell you the truth, even tried to persuade Doctor Kuramo to help me out... I..I, Joshua struggling to get his words right
I burst into tears... "Joshua my heart is so heavy, I don't know what to say. Jumoke, I'm truly sorry... Joshua cuts in. Joshua I need you to just listen.. I said in a shaky voice... Remember you asked me why Bayo had to leave the house without your knowledge???... Yes, but you told me he was getting too rude that you had to let him off... Joshua interrupted, what has that got to do with my apology he added. Well... Joshua, it has a lot to do with everything... I said still sobbing, Tope Adebisi my friend came visiting when we had problems and she advised me to step out of my comfort zone... She suggested that I should try Bayo our house help... And..nd.. I didn't want to at first but I was so desperate to be a mother, So I forced Bayo to have sex with me whilst you were away. And I paid him off when I found out I was pregnant with the twins... I'm sorry Joshua ... Em..em Taiye, keyin are your grand children.. Mo ku ooooo

Quote of the Day: I’m very much single… Banky W

"I am not in a relationship. I don't know why my last relationship didn't work. It is when a relationship works that you will get married. Until then, I am working on being a better man. So that when the right lady comes, I can give her all she wants.
Hehehehe, my ladies just disappointed me. Why should this guy be left single, biko, this shouldn’t be.

Ex-soccer star Victor Ikpeba set to Re-marry

As Air hostess lover moves in with him
Erstwhile African footballer of the Year and ex-Super Eagles striker, Victor Nosa Ikpeba has found love again.
According to those who should know, Victor's new love is Temitayo Ade, an air hostess with Chanchangi Airline.  Pretty and very light skinned, she is in her late 20s and she formerly works with the defunct Virgin Nigeria.
An Abeokuta indigene, she resides at Ogba in Lagos with her family and drives a navy Blue Toyota Avalon car. Those who are close to the beautiful lady informed us that she has benefited immensely from the affair.

Though unconfirmed, insiders alleged that it was the footballer and widower that bought her the car. Also, they said the ex-footballer pampers her so much with cash and attention.
And if what one of the friends of Temitayo told Top News is anything to go by, then the latest love birds may tie the knot before April 2012.
According to those who know their love story well, their paths crossed during one of Victor's trips to Abuja, they met aboard Virgin Nigeria Airline; Temitayo former company.
Though, Ikpeba, a regular visitor of the Nightshift Coliseum at Opebi has been linked with so many ladies after he lost his wife, Atinuke; mother of his children (Magdalene and Christina), he also has a woman in France that had two beautiful young girls for him but he seems to have been struck by the cupid’s arrow of Temitayo.
For now, they have been enjoying a whirlwind romance.  Infact, insiders alleged that Temitayo has moved in with him and they're now living under the same roof at Gbemisola Street in Ikeja where Victor has his house. The only thing left is to formalize their union, a source said.
Victor also visits her home in Ogba and he has been known by people in the community, that he has a link with the lady’s family especially Temitayo's mum who has been praying fervently that the widower should tie the nuptial knot with her only daughter this year. And from the way they are carrying on with their romance lately, the wedding bells may soon toll for them.
Victor Nosakhare Ikpeba, once fondly known and addressed as the Prince of Monaco because of his exploits in that part of the world, was married to Atinuke whom he later lost to the cold hands of death. She was diagnosed of cancer.
The Edo indigene whose other siblings are Peace, James, Joy, Iyabo, Micheal, Kayode and Balogun also lost his mother, Mrs. Dora Mubo Ikpeba, aged 6o to death on September 9, 2003.
Insiders alleged that the former Monaco FC, Borussia Dortmund of Germany, Julius Berger of Nigeria player is considering marriage again while Temitayo Ade, who is well known in the circle of some big boys in that past, can't wait to settle down.

Just as Mercy Johnson, another scandal hits Stephanie Okereke’s relationship

If you ask me beautiful actress Stephanie Okereke is not just in a relationship with CNN consultant, Linus Idahosa but are engaged and will be walking down the aisle soon. But there seem to be a twist in their relationship now, has another lady who calls in from Canada is claiming ‘child support’ for her fiancĂ©e’s love child. But are these women just waking up now to see their men in other relationships? Here’s how the Nation is reporting it;
A heartbreak similar to that of Mercy Johnson seems to be trailing another Nollywood actress Stephanie Okereke who herself parted ways with her estranged husband Chikelue Ileoanusi some years back. Stephanie‘s [current] romance with CNN consultant, Linus Idahosa, is currently in turmoil as the actress has been recently disturbed by a strange woman who constantly calls her home from Canada claiming child support for Linus‘ love child. Though Linus has denied the claims made by the said woman, Stephanie is said to be heartbroken as she doesn’t know who to believe.
