The Oyo State first Lady was received at the airport by her personal aides and security men. She told newsmen, “I am here live as you can see. I have never had any encounter with the London Metropolitan Police and I know I will never have. This has shown the true test of any human being’s ability to stand firm in times of crisis and controversy. My arrest is just a rumour and I think the time has come for us in Nigeria to stop playing dirty politics.”
On her arrival, the Oyo State first lady attributed the report to the handiwork of those she called mischief makers: “It is an attempt to tarnish my reputation which I have kept in my over 30 years of marriage. It is the price I have to pay as the wife of a politician… It is laughable; I only travelled last Sunday to London to accompany my child, who returned to a secondary school there… I stand on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and all other grounds are sinking sand. This is a passing phase and it will pass over.

Nigerian jailed 20years in UK for child trafficking using ‘juju’
Mr Osolase from Gravesend, Kent is reported to preyed on poverty-stricken orphans with the promise of a better life, Canterbury Crown Court heard. The jury was told in a six-week trial which ended on Friday that West African “juju rituals” were used to instil terror into Osolase’s three vulnerable victims, one aged just 14. ‘Exploitation and degradation’ The judge said the recycling worker, who has HIV, put his victims “in fear” to force their obedience and secure their silence.
“You were dealing in exploitation and manipulation and degradation,” she told Mr Osolase. “You are undoubtedly a very, very dishonest man. You are arrogant and manipulative; you are devoid of conscience, devoid of any compassion to your victims.”
The judge said Mr Osolase treated the girls as objects to be sold as sex slaves. The fact that he raped one girl knowing he had HIV was a “seriously aggravating” feature. Mr Osolase is alleged to take the girls to his home in Gravesend before sending them to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe.
The court had heard girls were trafficked into the UK and taken to Mr Osolase’s home in Gravesend before being sent to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe. One of the girls described the Juju ceremony performed on her in Nigeria. During the ritual, samples of blood were extracted from the girl and her head hair and pubic hair were also cut.
She was then told to swear an oath of silence. Osolase was stopped at Stansted airport in April 2011 attempting to board a plane.
Anthony Orchard QC, defending, said Mr Osolase disclosed that he had HIV voluntarily to police. “Mr Osolase acknowledges and regrets the consequences of his actions in relation to taking the girls out of the UK, and he has to bear the consequences of those actions,” Mr Orchard told the court.
Patients Should Learn To Always Say The Truth - Dr Siri Dafe
I read a post here sometime back about a guy whose diabetic mum was given the wrong prescription that almost killed her and as a medical practitioner I feel the need to write this piece.
I have a rule when attending to patients and its simply "ALL PATIENTS ARE LIARS" no matter what you tell me I will still carry out the necessary test I want to before treating you. Now there are certain types of lying patients; Click to continue.
1) There are the patients who don't know what was done to them previously, so they cannot give you an accurate medical history such patients are usually uneducated, very elderly, or can't speak english or express their selves accurately. Such patients tell you "No" and "Yes" to every question but can't accurately say "I was treated for hypertension 3 years ago" I will advise the readers to always accompany such patients (Aged parents, grand parents etc) to the hospital.
2) There are the patients who know their exact medical history BUT will refuse to tell you for reasons best known to them. Such patients think they will be judged, are considering their social status or they are ashamed etc. E.g a newly married woman comes for medical check up as to why she hasn't gotten pregnant in 3yrs after marriage and she's asked if she's ever done an abortion before and she replies "NO" when the answer is "YES" now that could be the cause of her problem or it could be something else but she has made the Doctor rule out abortion as a possible cause and he's treating for something else. A mother comes with her Baby and complains of excessive stooling and she's asked what she's feeding her baby and she says "Fisocream or Cerelac" but she conveniently keeps quiet about the "Traditional mixture" her mother gave her to feed the Baby for healthy bones and teeth. So the doctors treat for something else.
3) There are the "Holyghost filled, tongue-speaking, fire breathing, over righteous christian" patients that will NEVER give you accurate medical history because they believe "If any man be in Christ he is a new creation OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY and behold all things have become new". Yes! I am a born again christian so don't get me wrong at all, even though you have left your old ways PLEASE PLEASE when you find yourself in a hospital for whatever reason let the doctor know relevant medical history while you were a sinner.
4) There are the OVERSABI patients that will research all their symptoms online, come to the hospital, frustrate the Dr. Before the Dr says "A" they have said "B-Z" some even tell the Doctor what is the best treatment for them. Most times when you prescribe drugs for such patients they go back to wikipedia read all they can about the drug then on their own decide that the side effects for the prescribed drug is too much then they prescribe their drugs according to wikipedia that they think is best for them.
However there are very very few patients that will tell you as it is that are very open and believe their life comes first before any Past, traditional beliefs, titles etc. The aim of this post is not to insult any body but to encourage readers to always say the truth about medical history and never lie to their doctors because when you blame doctors its not entirely their fault most times. However if you know you were honest and still not satisfied with the treatment always seek a second and third opinion, being a doctor never made anybody perfect.
Plane Crash: Families Want Overseas Treatment For Suntai’s Aides
Some members of the families who craved anonymity told journalists in Abuja that if the governor could be flown to Germany, it showed that the government lacked confidence in the local hospitals.

“Considering the degree of injuries, I think they should be transferred overseas. After all what is good for the governor will still be good for his aides. They were in the same aircraft with the governor and I think they should be given the same treatment like him,” one of them said.
Our correspondent learnt in Abuja on Sunday that Suntai’s Aide de Camp, Dasat Iliya, had been lying unconscious at the Yola hospital since the incident that also left the governor in critical condition.
But the governor who had been airlifted to the National Hospital on Friday was early on Saturday flown to Germany for treatment while the injured aides were brought to the National Hospital on Sunday.
The Chief Detail to the Governor, Joel Dan, was also said to be having a fractured arm while the governor’s Chief Security Officer, Timo Dangana, reportedly had his two legs damaged.
Both Dan and Dangana had been reportedly taken to Jalingo, Taraba State Capital for treatment before they were transferred to Abuja Sunday night.
The governor’s aides were brought to the National Hospital in a convoy of siren-blaring ambulances at 6.40pm on Sunday.

The prosecution had told the court that Udoh committed the offence on May 31, at Falodun Country Home Motel, Benin, and that the one-count charge contravened Section 218 of the criminal code.The court held that the evidence of the convict that he went to collect money from someone at the house opposite where he worked when the incident happened was untrue.
The court also faulted the witnesses called by the convict, noting that their testimonies were conflicting.The court further held that the proximity between the convict’s residence and his office could not rule out the possibility of the convict dashing home to commit the offence and returning to work.
The court also held that there was identification parade conducted in the house and the little girl pointed at the convict as being responsible for her defilement.Osayi described the victim as intelligent due to her evidence in court as well as the manner she responded to questions put to her by the court during cross examination.Consequently, the court found Udoh guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
