Police Arrest Boss of Dead ‘Houseboy’ Found in Pool

State Criminal Investigation Department of the Lagos State Police Command, Panti, has arrested Tunde Williams, whose 22-year-old ‘houseboy,’ Onyeka Raphael, was found dead in the swimming pool of Williams’ house on Saturday.

Spokesperson of the command, Ngozi Braide, told our correspondent on Wednesday, that the case was transferred to the SCID on Wednesday.

Braide said, “I spoke with the Divisional Police Officer of Ogudu yesterday. The boss was not cooperating.

“Right now, the officers in charge of the case would dig into the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased. Investigation has commenced.”

A source at the homicide unit of the SCID, said Williams, a retired accountant, had been taken into custody on Wednesday while a search was conducted on his home.

“A single-barrelled gun was found in the house and there is no evidence suggesting that the gun was legally owned,” the source said.

Raphael was found at the bottom of the swimming pool of the house on Babatunde Asimi Street, Ogudu GRA, Lagos, in which he worked as a househelp.

The deceased was said to be an indigene of Umunede in Ika Local Government Area of Delta State.


Learnt that the family had suspected foul play and written a petition to the Commissioner of Police, seeking an investigation into Raphael’s death.

The family claimed the dinner Raphael made for himself the night before was still on the kitchen table, adding that the security man in the house said he did not observe anything strange that night.

The police have said an autopsy would be carried out on the victim’s corpse.

A source said there was a fallout between Williams and the deceased about a month ago and that he (Raphael) would have quit his job save for appeals from a family member.

It is however not clear what the cause of the problem was.

The police have said the outcome of the autopsy would determine whether the case would be treated as homicide or not.

Mrs Ajimobi Arrives Nigeria 6:45am this Morning

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the unaccompanied Oyo State state governor’s wife arrived at the International Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, at 6.45a.m today aboard a Virgin Atlantic Airline flight.

The Oyo State first Lady was received at the airport by her personal aides and security men. She told newsmen, “I am here live as you can see. I have never had any encounter with the London Metropolitan Police and I know I will never have. This has shown the true test of any human being’s ability to stand firm in times of crisis and controversy. My arrest is just a rumour and I think the time has come for us in Nigeria to stop playing dirty politics.”

On her arrival, the Oyo State first lady attributed the report to the handiwork of those she called mischief makers: “It is an attempt to tarnish my reputation which I have kept in my over 30 years of marriage. It is the price I have to pay as the wife of a politician… It is laughable; I only travelled last Sunday to London to accompany my child, who returned to a secondary school there… I stand on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and all other grounds are sinking sand. This is a passing phase and it will pass over.

Teenage Girl Killed By Policemen is Buried

Family of Lucy Ukpong, the 18-year-old sales girl killed by some policemen in Apo, Abuja on October 12, 2012 have said nothing short of justice will be acceptable to them. This is just as Lucy was buried amid tears at Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.

Police Beats up Music Act, Baba Fryo, Gets Admitted in the Hospital

The musician said the incident happened on Tuesday after the two girls had rebuffed entreaties by two policemen to follow them to an unknown destination.

He said the two policemen went to get five colleagues of theirs and pounced on these girls, hitting them viciously with guns, batons and boots.

When he heard the commotion from his room in his friend’s hotel, he said he moved to the scene to find out what was amiss.

He stated that when he begged the seven policemen to stop beating the girls, one of them turned to him and gave him some hot slaps.

Within seconds, four others joined in beating him, leaving him with fractures.

He said when he reported the matter to the DPO of a nearby police station, he sympathised with him.

But Fryo said he was taken aback when no mention was made of who would bear the cost of his treatment.

He vowed that he would sue the police if nothing was done about the matter, noting that a scan had confirmed that he sustained a fracture in one of his legs.

Baba Fryo is widely known for his hit track – Dem Go Dey Pose.

When our correspondent reached the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Baride, for comments, she was said to be in a meeting.

She did not also respond to an SMS sent to her mobile phone.

The clarification was made through his press secretary, Musa Alaraba, who said it was untrue that the policeman, identified as Mohammed Aliyu, mistook the State Security Service (SSS) vehicle in his convoy for an intruder.

The governor was said to be in a convoy of several cars while returning from Maisandari, a town located in the outskirts of the state capital, Damaturu.

The deputy governor said, “There was no attempted attack on me by external forces. The policeman that fired gunshot while my convoy was passing by at the checkpoint was not in his senses. The intelligence report I gathered revealed that he had consumed alcohol and other psychotropic substances.

“The fact is that there were five vehicles in all in the convoy: a black Hilux with armed policemen was in the front; then my vehicle, followed by a Peugeot 406 conveying the operatives of the State Security Service (SSS); then the white Hilux of my ADC and finally, another Hilux conveying policemen.

“Our convoy passed through the same checkpoint and came back within 30 minutes but the overzealous policeman ignorantly fired the gunshot.

“There were no intruders… no traffic at all at the roadblock and the SSS vehicle was following mine very closely but yet he fired… it is unfortunate but we thank God that nobody was injured. I wish to appeal to the police authorities to always scrutinize the police they send to checkpoints,” he said.

Abubakar Aliyu said he felt a need to make the public statement because media reports portrayed the incident as some sort of militant attack on his convoy.

Davido fights with taxi driver over girlfriend

A taxi driver, Femi Ajibola, will never forget July 1, 2012 in a hurry. At about 5.30 pm on that day, he received a phone call from a young woman in the Lekki area of Lagos and had quickly answered the subsequent invitation to pick her up.

“From there we left for Beni Apartment in Victoria Island. They said that I should wait for them and promised to be back soon. Not long afterwards, one of the girls began to scream as she was coming towards my car. Behind her, I saw David Adeleke (Davido) and four of his bouncers.

 “The girl was running towards me. I think the men had assaulted her. She said I should open the door for her so that she would enter. I opened the door for her; as she was about to enter the car, Davido caught up with her and slapped her face,” Ajibola said.

In a bid to save the girl from further assault, Ajibola switched on the engine of his cab and was about to drive off when the youthful singer suddenly dealt him a slap.

The cabbie said, “He left the girl and faced me. He said I was the one that brought the girls, that I am their boyfriend. He knocked my face against the steering wheel of the cab. This made blood begin to come out from my ear drums. He seized my car keys and in the process, injured me.

“Before I knew what was going on, his four bouncers began to beat me up. They beat me severely and took my car keys from me and chased me away. This happened around 11 pm. I went to report the matter at the Bar Beach Police Station, which was the nearest one. I was asked to come back the next morning to report the case.”

Unfortunately, Ajibola had just taken delivery of the vehicle he was using for his transport business and had not paid the dealer in full before the incident. He said that the balance of N100,000 was in the car before the incident had happened. In the whole confusion, he could not pick the money as he was ordered to leave the car by the bouncers.

“I had taken delivery of the vehicle about two weeks before the incident. I had paid my dealer N50,000 and the other N100,000 was in the car because I could not pay it in the bank. The money was in the car and since they had sent me away from the car, I could not retrieve it.

“The following day, I did not find the money in the cab. They did not even let me wind the car windows up before they chased me out. I noticed that the car was ransacked. I managed to obtain Davido’s phone number and called him. But he did not pick his call. So I sent him a text message. Thirty minutes after I sent him the message, someone picked up the call and promised to pass the message to him. I did not get my car key throughout that day. I went to the police station to file a report,” Ajibola said.

“When all efforts to contact Davido proved futile, the police had to go to Susie. Unfortunately, she was of no help.”

“On the fourth day, I went to Susie’s house with the police. The ladies said they were not the ones that beat me. They said the only help they could render was to give me Davido’s address and that they had since settled their differences. The whole point of the police visit was to use the girls to get to Davido, but the girls made a phone call to an aunt of theirs and the policemen left them, saying that they were not the ones that assaulted me,” the cab driver said.

CRIME DIGEST learnt that the genesis of the fight was because the singer was allegedly caught cheating on his girlfriend.

Ajibola continued, I learnt that Davido was dating one of the girls I picked up. They went to his hotel room and caught him with another girl who was their friend. This is what I learnt caused the fight. The police collected Davido’s phone number and called him, but he kept asking them if they knew whose son he was.

“He warned the policemen not to threaten or intimidate him. They in turn told him that they were just inviting him for questioning and not to arrest him. Since then, the effort to get him has not been forthcoming.  I had to go to the hospital because I was really injured. Davido gave me a blow to the ear which made it to bleed.

“One day, the DPO of the station assured me that they would make sure they get him. He was irritated by Davido’s boasting that he was immune to arrest. On July 13, one Sharon Adeleke asked me to come and collect the key of my car at 1004. I told her to come and meet me at the police station. She did not turn up till the DPO intervened.

“The DPO invited the Sharon Adeleke, she eventually came to drop the key of the car. I told them that I could not just collect the key of the car without documentation that they gave me the key of the car without a penny, though I lost money and my car got damaged. When I said this, the DPO told me that I did not look like someone that was worth N100,000.

“He said I have no proof that there was money in the car and that all he was after was to retrieve my car keys for me. He said that if I wanted to do anything I should go to court and he ordered me out of his office. Till this moment I have not received my car keys or an apology from the singer,” Ajibola said.

When contacted on the telephone, both Davido and the Divisional Police Officer of Bar Beach police station, Fakeye Adegoke, refused to answer their calls nor did they reply the text messages sent to them.

But Davido’s publicist, Valerie Obaze, denied her client’s involvement in the incident.

“Davido has no knowledge of any incident involving the assault of a taxi driver or the illegal seizure of his car. He does not condone violence of any sort and will not be commenting on this untrue allegation,” she said via email

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide promised to get back to CRIME DIGEST with the facts of the matter later.

SSS Arrests Customs Comptroller For Providing Arms For Armed Robbers

Men of the State Security Service, SSS, on Tuesday arrested a Comptroller of Customs in Abuja for buying ammunitions over time from Niger State Police command. Mr. Jack Bot was arrested at the customs head office Wuse, Abuja.

The customs officer and the two policemen were alleged to have a connection with the disappearance of some ammunition from the police armoury in Minna.

Commenting on the arrest, the Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko said “For long we have been working with Ali Kwara, who informed me that they suspected that someone among my officers is aiding armed robbers with weapons. I told him he should fish him out and arrest him, whoever he is. Eventually, they arrested a junior officer, one Shehu, who is an orderly to a comptroller, Jack, from Plateau State.

When Ali Kwara arrested Shehu, he (Shehu) told him that Jack is his boss and they have been doing this together since 2002, and they even supplied weapons to Jos during crises. I thank God that out of 20,000 people I am heading only two people were accused of such crime.”

 Young Yussif, who is still in pain, speaking on Kessben FM in Kumasi said:

“I want the police to immediately arrest my father and beat him mercilessly just as he did to me.”

“I want the police to also burn my father with a hot iron just as he did to me so that he too will feel the pain that I felt.”

Yussif’s father allegedly beat him and later ordered the boy to sit on the bed whilst he pressed a burning iron on the boy’s foot.

The poor boy’s right foot developed a sore, making it impossible for him to walk properly. He was spotted by two journalists of Kessben FM on Wednesday who took him to the Emergency Centre of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was admitted.

Yussif said his father,sent him on an errand but he decided to visit his grandmother, against his father’s 

warning.According to him, his father, after searching for him, later found him at his grandmother’s at Asafo Dadiesoaba. Yussif’s father became angry and dragged the boy to his house.

Yussif said his father, upon reaching the house, subjected him to severe beatings after which he ordered him to sit on the bed where he pressed a hot iron on his foot for disobeying him.

Yussif, who is now being treated by medical personnel at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, insisted that

“I want the police to arrest my father, beat him mercilessly and also press a hot iron against his foot just as he did to me.”

Wahab Yussif, has been invited for questioning. The young boy is also being kept by the department until the matter is finally resolved.

Extra-Judicial Killing: Police Covers Up Death Inside Cell As Family Cries For Justice

Police officers, especially those in the Public Relations Department have incessantly hammered it into the ears of the vast population of Nigerians that the “Police is your friend”. Most of those who have however heard the statement have chosen not to believe it as some have done so at their peril, some never lived to regret believing that the police, their supposed friend cannot hurt them.

The crude, unconventional methods and the high degree of baseness adopted by some officers of the Nigerian Police Force have pitched them against the generality of Nigerians. Police brutality seems to have become part of the Nigerian system. The Nigerians that have been murdered in cold blood by trigger happy policeman cannot easily be numbered.

Just when the country was getting over the shooting of Idris and Ademola Aderinto, protesters who were shot by policemen during the fuel subsidy saga in January, police brutality has again reared its head in another ugly form. Controversy has surrounded the death of Ademola Lawrence Adedeji, a staff of the Adebola Group of Companies, (producers of Rite & Bigi beef roll) and it is not the type that will clear in a hurry. . Efforts to get him released on bail proved abortive, according to the widow, “the Police refused his bail that night, and 2 hours after I left him in police custody, the Police killed my husband! He turned 39years old just last week”. The deceased and his wife have 3 young children with the oldest being 7 years old, the other 5 and the youngest will be one year old next week.

It was alleged in some quarters that after his demise, the police took his corpse to an undeclared morgue. Street Journal gathered that no family member was allowed to see his body. Speaking further, the widow disclosed that “the same Nigerian Police claims they don’t have any record of his arrest!  Please help me, Nigerian Police Force and Adebola Group should produce my husband! Please help, make them answer to this injustice” she lamented.

Reacting to the allegations however, the Police stated in a message to Street Journal  that “one Late Ademola Lawrence Adedeji, Male, Yoruba by tribe was brought to Ikeja Police division on 9th February by Adebola Group for issuing a dude cheque. He fell sick and was transferred to the Hospital for medical attention where he was reportedly dead. It has nothing to do with Police brutality and his family was informed accordingly”.

The deceased’s sister in-law also disclosed to Street Journal that “he was refused bail on Thursday. They asked for 1million Naira as bail. We offered to drop a new unregistered vehicle worth N 1.5million but the police refused.

A new twist however emerged when the family’s lawyer went to Area F police station. The DPO Charles Uwabuoku confirmed that Mr Ademola Adedeji was arrested and brought by Adebola Group of Companies. And less than 2 hours after the wife and family left, he started gasping for breath.

The station could however not produce the statement written by Ademola Adedeji. The police claimed he was shivering at the time he was brought in, so the officer in charge wrote the statement on his behalf. Less than an hr after he was arrested the wife got to the police station around 2pm and she left around 9pm.  She however disclosed that she didn’t see or notice the husband shivering.

The Area F DPO was quoted in an interview published by Daily Independent on Monday, 13th February as saying “no one with the name Ademola Adedeji was arrested”.

When the deceased’s family however got to the station with their lawyer, the DPO confirmed that he was arrested and detained at the station.

Pastor caught having SEX with pregnant sheep in Ghana

RESIDENTS OF Abesim near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region are in a state of shock and disbelief following the bizarre news which broke last Friday about a self-styled evangelist who was caught red-handed having sexual intercourse with a pregnant sheep.

The weird news spread like wildfire and attracted a huge crowd that thronged the Abesim police station to catch a glimpse of the pastor and his sheep ‘wife’.

According to the police, Pastor Gordon Yeboah confessed at the station to having sexual intercourse with the animal, claiming that when he saw the sheep, he experienced an unusual feeling within him, prompting him to have sex with the animal. Pastor Yeboah, 20, a father of a seven-month-old baby, who claims to be the leader of the Holy Spirit Ministry Fellowship church based at Yeboakrom near Abesim, was caught in the act, bonking the poor pregnant sheep at a village called Ampehia near Nkrankrom in the Abesim area on Thursday evening. click below to continue

The very loud bleating of the sheep as a result of the possible excruciating pains it was suffering in the abnormal act did not bother the ‘man of God’ who was bent on unleashing his libido on the animal, until he was finally caught in the act.

Chief Mourinho, together with the investigator of the case, Inspector Kofi Aboagye, told us that Pastor Yeboah held the two hind legs of the pregnant sheep which had been tied to a tree, raised them up to his waist level for easy access and had sex with it.

The police said the pregnant sheep was sent to the Veterinary Service for examination, a report of which is yet to be released, whilst investigations are ongoing. The pastor is currently in police custody and would be charged with unnatural carnal knowledge under Section 104 (1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The police said on Friday that about 7.00am, two men, Kwadwo Yeboah and Thomas Kumi, both residents of Asikasu village nearNkrankrom, came to the station with Pastor Gordon Yeboah and a female pregnant sheep.

According to the police, Kwadwo Yeboah reported that he saw the pastor having sexual intercourse with the sheep at Ampehia village when he was returning from his farm on Thursday evening around 5.00pm.

The farmer told the police in his statement that he saw the pastor half-naked as he raised the two hind legs of the pregnant sheep, inserted his manhood into the sex organ of the animal and had sexual intercourse with it. The farmer said he initially thought the pastor was attempting to steal the sheep which was tied to a tree behind the house, but after observing what was unfolding, he realised that the pastor was actually having sex with the animal.

He said he went straight to the pastor who was then carried away and tapped him on the back, whereupon the pastor became aware that somebody had been watching him.

According to the farmer, Pastor Yeboah knelt down and begged him not to disclose what he had seen to anybody and that he (Pastor Yeboah) would give him anything he wanted. He said just as the pastor was pleading with him, the owner of the sheep, Thomas Kumi, appeared on the scene and he narrated the whole episode to him while the pastor was still half-naked. The two took the pastor to the chief of Asikasu, Opanin Agya Birii, who said the act was abominable on the land and therefore directed them to send both the pastor and sheep to the police station.

According to the police, Pastor Yeboah confessed at the station to having sexual intercourse with the animal. Chief Inspector Gumenu advised the general public to be wary of self-styled ‘men of God’ who claimed to have gotten supernatural powers to do miracles. He asked the public to report miscreants to the police when they suspect them to be of questionable character.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Inspector Christopher Tawiah, assured Ghanaians that the police were ever ready to promptly respond to their calls. He called on genuine men of God not to be discouraged by the recent actions of unscrupulous pastors.

Police Investigates Death In PZ Industry

The police today confirmed the death of a 39-year-old worker with Patterson Zochonis Industries (PZ), Ikorodu Branch, Bolaji Sekoni.

Sekoni died on December 9 when a body cream mixing machine he was working with exploded and seriously injured him and another worker leading to his death.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Lagos State, Mr Samuel Jinadu, disclosed that Sekoni’s death was reported by PZ and was being treated as an “industrial accident”.

According to the police, while Sekoni died of the injuries he sustained in the factory shortly after the accident, his injured colleague has remained in hospital and is responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, PZ has said that Sekoni’s death was a great loss to the company and not just to his family, describing him as a hard working staff.

And in a desperate mission, Flora reportedly visited the National Assembly complex to find a link to the Senate President, but was not allowed into the complex by the security operatives.

However, yemojanews.com gathered that on October 15, 2011, Flora’s game was exposed and was caught red handed by the Police in the Federal Capital Territory.

Yemojanews.com investigators informed that on that fateful day, Flora had arranged with one of her clients whom she had never met before for sex, and had agreed to the price of $4,000 for an all night rounds of sex.

The meeting place was Protea Hotel, Wuse 2, and every other thing was put in place for a sweet time.

But unknown to Flora, the Abuja Police have placed her on surveillance, after many reports of her prostitution adventure had reached the authority.

So, the police had been monitoring her movement and she was trailed to Protea Hotel on the day she was to meet her customer.

According to sources, Flora was in the hotel room, stark naked with her client when the police forced their way into the room and arrested her and the customer. The $4,000 she got from her client was also seized and to be used as exhibit against her in the court.

After the arrest, Flora was taken to Maitama Police Station where she was detained, and an incident of prostitution was filed against her at the Police Station.

According to witnesses, Flora’s father who also lives in Abuja, and the lawmaker were later invited to the Police Station to see with their own eyes what she had turned her life to.

The source informed us that Flora could not look her father in the eyes at the Police Station while the ex-lawmaker felt heartbroken and disappointed in her.

yemojanews.com learnt the police wanted to take the case to court, but after several pleas by the father, as well as the lawmaker who pleaded that Flora has a child for him, and wouldn’t want the stigma to live with the son throughout his life, the police decided to drop the case, but warned that Flora will not get a second chance if she got caught again.

After her release from the Police Station, yemojanews.com learnt that the lawmaker kicked Flora out of his home, collected his son from her, and washed his hands completely off her life.

Flora’s friend who gave yemojanews.com this story said that she is now biting her fingers, ‘’she is just roaming the streets of Abuja now, jumping from one man’s bed to the other and collecting money.. Flora is just a stupid girl. She got everything on a platter of gold, but her insatiable appetite for money has landed her where she is now. See how ‘runs’ has ruined her,’’ the lady lamented.

Police Arrest Suspected kidnappers

Three male suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
Obiora Ifeanyi 29, Peter Emmanuel, 28, and Stephen Eze, 24 were recently arrested at Satellite Town for allegedly kidnapping an auto dealer, Hyacinth Duru. The Deputy Spokesperson for the police, Adesanya Jinadu, said the combined efforts of the officers of the command led to the arrest of the suspects.
