LG Chairman Dies 3 Weeks After Swearing In

It was indeed devastating news last week after a long celebration in the home of Alhaji Adamu Garba Ibeto, the newly elected Chairman of Magama Local Government. The politician who is also, a cousin to the present Deputy Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Musa Ibeto, was found stone dead in his bedroom at his house in Ibeto. Alhaji Ibeto, was one of the 24 new local government chairmen recently sworn in by the Niger State Governor, Aliyu Babangida on September 13, 2011. All through the period, he was hale and hearty until two weeks ago when a story broke out that the man had died. However, series of speculation and rumors have started flying around concerning his death but one thing according to close sources is that, they met some portion of local herbs believed to have high concentration of alcohol by his bedside. Though, official statement has not been made yet but Dr. Muazu Babangida has instituted an inquiry to find out the cause of his death. The deputy chairman has since been sworn-in as the chairman of the local government.
