Meet Fela Layinka- He is known as Phizzle

Fela Yomi-Layinka aka Phizzle, is a rapper and media entrepreneur born in Ibadan on the 9th of Feb 1985 into a media family. His mom is a trained journalist while his father is a TV producer/director. He grew up around the arts; music, theatre, creative and the fine arts. Please click to read more about him...Phizzle grew up with very little access to foreign pop music, so he listened predominantly to the likes of Alex O, Alex Zitto, Daniel Wilson, Blackky etc. He was and still is a big fan of Shina Peters and his Afro Juju genre. It wasn't until listening to the likes of Maintain, Trybesmen, Modenine and Eedris Abdulkareem during the birth of Nigerian Hip-Hop in the late 90s that he got his motivation to become rapper. Throughout his first degree at Babcock University he built up this skill and quickly became popular on campus with his eclectic demeanour, unpredictable flow and unconventional delivery style, in addition to his unique voice.

Phizzle then went on to the UK for his second degree in 2007 and currently holds an MSc. in Information Systems Management from Brunel University, London. It was during this period he recorded and released his first official single 'Jaiye Jaiye' on a beat produced by American producers Dukes of DaVille. This single went on to be quite popular online with 6000 downloads in its 1st 3weeks online back in 2009. It also got good radio airplay on Nigerian radio stations like RayPower Fm, Eko Fm etc courtesy Djs Spin'all & Ex-L amongst others. 'Jaiye Jaiye' went on be the lead single off his first official mixtape 'The Ibadan/Lagos/London Mixtape' which was released on the his birthday in 2010.

Phizzle likes to approach his music as an art. He seeks to share his moods, emotions, experiences and aspirations with his listeners/audience. He delivers with true passion and creative freedom. This can be felt when listening to his most recent project, an 11 track EP titled CITY TO CITY: THE ADVENTURES OF WATERBOI P which was released February 9, 2012, two years after the release of the I/L/L mixtape.

A slick visual artist with a keen interest in logo designing, his process of music creation also extends his graphic arts as he designs a bulk of his own promotional artwork. He also takes a cue from his dad when it comes to video production as well, and you can expect some out-of-the-ordinary videos from him. With his love for music, and his bulk of talent, Phizzle is set to raise the bar in the Nigerian music industry not only by bringing good music, but also by creating new standards and possibilities for Nigerian artistes.

An alumnus of the Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-African University, Phizzle is the Principal Consultant/Creative Director of EyeCandy Media Limited, a media concepts/brand consultancy company that deals in entertainment and lifestyle brands development.

Unruly Behaviour Of Kingsley Of KC Presh

Star Quest Judge, musician, role model, husband and father, Kingsley (KC Presh) has done the unthinkable. The father of one mistakenly bashed the car of another music producer, who goes by the name Moshood Adegboro, few days ago in Alausa and also made him sustain injuries in the process. Instead of Kingsley to apologise, we learnt he stepped out of his car, harassed the producer, and bragged that nothing would happen when the producer accused him of bashing his car. Kingsley however zoomed off leaving the producer at the accident scene. The guy we learnt immediately went to Alausa Police Station to report the incident, but the Police are yet to find Kingsley. Adegboro has also gone to treat himself, but vows he will make sure the singer pays for this.

This song got a lot of attention on some blogs, websites and from listeners - the motivating factor that led her to shoot a video for the song.

"Suga Suga" was produced by D-Tunes while budding director, Lekan a.k.a Unlimited LA gets credit for this video.

Tosan is from Delta State, Nigeria. She is a former member of a music group in Ghana called ‘RECKLESS DOLLS’ formed in 2010.

She left the group this year (2011), to pursue a solo career in her home country.

Tosan's kind of music is R&B and Pop but a listen to some of her other songs reveal that she has a thing for Hip hop as well.

Her influences include the likes of Pink, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 2Face Idibia, Zeal and Ghanaian singer, Becca.

When I mean someone needs a makeover, please, I know what I’m saying. One would have thought the female fuji musician would have made a lot of money from her lewd lyrics but it does not seem so. Sighted at a birthday party somewhere around Oregun recently, she wore an oversized dress and many thinks she needs a tutorial in fashion. We hope she gets someone to help her look into this, if by any means she knows the meaning of branding.
